Monsoon arrives with a bang, it pours across MP

With heavy rainfall across several regions of the State, the south-west monsoon covered the whole of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.

The long wait finally ended on Wednesday after the monsoon reached and covered the whole state after a delay of about two weeks in the state capital.

State capital witnessing intense humid weather conditions got big relief after continuous rainfall during the day on Wednesday lashed the state capital.

Apart from the uneasiness due to weather conditions more importantly water crisis would be eased across several regions which spiraled up after the monsoon delay.

The highest amount of rainfall was witnessed in Sonkutch at 12 cm in the past 24 hours.

Sujalpur and Tarana reported 9 cm of rainfall, Mhow and Biora recorded 7 cm of rainfall, Rewa and Khandwa recorded 6 cm of rainfall and Morena, Neemuch, Jawad and Sailana each recorded 5 cm of rainfall.

Warning of heavy rainfall has been for Anuppur, Shahdol, Dindori, Chindwara, Narsinghpur, Hoshangabad, Guna, Agar and Rajgarh has been issued.

After the advent of monsoon highest day temperature was recorded at 38 degree Celsius at Nowgong and Khajuraho on Wednesday.

The regions where several places are likely to witness rainfall are Jabalpur, Rewa, Shahdol divisions, Ashok Nagar, Guna, Sehore, Raisen, Vidisha, Hoshangabad and Betul districts while few places in Ujjain, Indore, Sagar, Chambal divisions and Bhopal, Rajgarh and Harda districts are likely to receive rainfall. Very few places in Gwalior division would receive rainfall.

In the past 24 hours Indore, Ujjain and Bhopal divisions recorded rainfall at several palaces.
