After the High Court orders of halting river rafting and paragliding in the State till rules are put in place, the former PCC president Kishore Upadhyay alleged that the State Government was responsible for about one lakh people suffering loss of employment. "I meet people who are working in this profession and have been facing serious problems since the High Court ordered a halt on the activities. The State Government should have taken the issue to the HC. But the government has exposed its dual face. On the one hand it talks of giving jobs to the people for which they organised Tehri Lake Festival but on the other hand, people have lost their jobs.”
