BALANGIR: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Wednesday arrested a person from
Titlagarh railway station here for possessing fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 4.41 lakh.
The accused, who had boarded the 12835 Hatia-Yesvantpur Express at
Bargarh railway station, has been identified as Ramachandra Bhoi of Dukurla village under Bhatli police limits.
Police said Bhoi had boarded the train with a bag containing counterfeit notes in different denominations. He entered into an an argument with CRPF jawan Raj Upadhay when the latter asked him to stop smoking inside the compartment.
Things turned ugly when Bhoi assaulted Upadhay with a surgical scalpel injuring him severely. Following this, Upadhay along with some personnel of the Railway Protection Force captured Bhoi inside the train. Soon after the train reached Titlagarh station at around 3am, Bhoi was handed over to the GRP.

Rayagada zone) said, "Police are investigating the fake currency racket and those who are using trains to circulate the same to different locations." Bhoi will be forwarded to court tomorrow, he added. The injured CRPF jawan of Bastar battalion was rushed to a nearby hospital.
