State WCD Department bags three National Awards

Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh congratulated Women and Child Development Department Minister Ramleela Sahu and officers-employees for bagging the three prestigious National Awards.

Minister Ramleela Sahu had called on Chief Minister at Secretariat on Wednesday. She apprised the Chief Minister of the achievements.

The Minister said that State Women and Child Development Department bagged Scotch Awards for three projects.

The Department bagged two Gold prizes and one Copper Award for completing the three projects in a time-bound and efficient manner. This includes eDocket-WCD Portal-Gold project bagged the Gold.

Sahu said that the project had been launched in the year 2012 that developed software which transmits messages to the far-flung regions in 3 seconds and at 10 per cent less investment. Digitization had percolated to developmental level.

 'Vajan Thyor' also bagged Gold. The fair measures the weight of the infant at regular intervals which led to drastic fall in malnourishment levels in the entire State.

Copper Award was bagged by 'Sanskar Abhiyan'. Children at anganwadis learn through fun and play mode. The quality of services had improved at the anganwadis.

Sahu said that 1700 projects are operating in the entire country.

Secretary Dr. M. Geetha and Director Rajesh Singh were also present.
