NAGPUR: Ganeshpeth police produced Neeraj Vinchurkar, who allegedly killed his elder brother, in court on Wednesday and procured PCR till June 30. Neeraj had allegedly killed his brother Pankaj by repeatedly smashing his head with a broken tile at their house at Model Mill Chawl in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Neeraj had taken the drastic step to put an end to his brother’s alleged harassment of their mother Geetabai. According to cops, the deceased was an alcoholic and used to torture Geetabai for money to fulfil his need for alcohol.

Earlier in the evening, a quarrel had broken out between the two brothers, following which Pankaj had sent Geetabai out of the house. Hours after that, Neeraj went to Pankaj’s room and hit him with the broken tile, and continued to slam him until he died. The murder came to light when their house owner Trymbak Bangale informed cops after being alerted by the noise.
