Eminent writer Benudhar’s books released

Literature is an instrument for social change. Good literary works both entertain and enlighten people, said the speakers at a book release programme held at the State Archives here last week.

Releasing "Sauntaphula" and 'Ehipari Kete Katha', a poetry collection and a short stories collections, respectively, written by octogenarian Benudhar Rath, the guests said that life experiences along with imagination make the very basis of good literature.

The programme was chaired by Prof Narayan Satapathy, renowned critic and dramatist, and graced by Dr Basanta K Panda, eminent essayist and Sadananda Tripathy, Akademi award winner fiction writer, who discussed on the works of Rath.

Rath said life and society have immense potentials to have meaningful creative pursuits.

The programme was organised by the Bhubaneswar Sahitya Samaj in which its president Surya Mishra, cine artist Prof Suresh Mishra, Bibudhananda Satapathy, journalist Pradosh Pattanaik, B Panigrahi and poet Rakshyak Nayak also spoke.

It was announced by the Bhubaneswar Sahitya Samaj that the fourth poetry and prose collections of Benudhar Rath would be published by the spring of 2019.
