Banking royal commission hears ANZ had 'no empathy' and 'no compassion'

The first farmer takes the stand at the royal commission and slams ANZ for treating him and his wife without any empathy or compassion, and failing to offer an apology for years of financial hardship.
Tasmanian cattle farmer and timber grower Michael Hirst was the first farmer to give evidence this week, after commissioner Kenneth Hayne granted a request from Mr Hirst's barrister.
The commission will later hear from another farmer case study and rural specialist lender Rabobank.
