Zinc futures slide 0.18% on low demand

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Zinc prices softened by 0.18 per cent to Rs 196.35 per kg in futures trading today as speculators cut their bets, taking negative cues from the spot markets on easing demand and approaching monthly expiry.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in July eased by 35 paise, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 196.35 per kg in business turnover of 92 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in June was enquiring lower by 30 paise, or 0.15 per cent to Rs 197.35 per kg in 452 lots.

Analysts said off-loading of positions by participants due to a fall in demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly influenced zinc prices at futures trade.
