Man dead after car crashes into central Queensland dam

A man has died after his car crashed through a guardrail and into a dam in central Queensland on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called to the Bruce Highway near Zillman Road in Wallaville, about 50 kilometres south-west of Bundaberg, just after 11.30am.

Paramedics assessed a man for critical injuries and the Lifeflight Rescue Helicopter was called to the scene just before midday, but police said there was a fatality.
