Global markets remained mixed amid rising trade tensions between the US and its major trading partners, including the EU, China and India.
Sectoral indices exhibited mixed trend. While IT, FMCG, Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas closed in green, Power, Realty, Healthcare and Auto witnessed some selling pressure.
Jayant Manglik, President, Religare Broking said, “The escalating global trade tensions between US and other major economies could keep the markets choppy and volatile in the coming sessions. The progress of monsoon and movement of crude oil prices and currency will also be closely monitored by the market participants. Investors’ focus should remain on quality stocks with strong financials and bright prospects. However, traders should remain cautious and strictly hedge their positions.”
