Snap stock rises after report says company plans to introduce a Snapchat gaming platform

Shares of Snap Inc. are up 1.1% in Wednesday trading after a report from tech site the Information said that the company plans to introduce a gaming platform for the Snapchat app. The report, which cites two people familiar with Snap's plans, states that the company is preparing to let developers make games for Snapchat and has a deal with at least one publisher already. Snap already offers basic augmented-reality games called Snappables that allow Snapchat users to, among other things, raise their eyebrows as many times as they can in a few seconds and then challenge a friend to beat their score. Snap shares are down 25% over the past 12 months, while the S&P 500 has gained 13%.
