Find X Lamborghini Dials A Dab Of Opulence Into The Smartphone Market

Chances are, if you’re driving a Lamborghini, you have the cash on hand to upgrade the rest of your kit to similar standards. That is, unless you blew all your cash buying the supercar in the first place, then keeping it insured, fueled, and stocked with fresh rubber.

The Italian automaker is ready to hook you up with all manner of goods built to the same standard, and now that includes a smartphone.

Unveiled at the Louvre in Paris, the new OPPO Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition stems from a new partnership between the the House of the Raging Bull and Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications – one of China’s leading electronics manufacturers. The high-tech mobile device is decked out in black and orange, and features a three-dimensional Raging Bull badge. But there’s more to it than just branding.

To live up the Lambo’s reputation for speed, the Find X features a quick-charging SuperVOOC system – claimed to be used for the first time in a smartphone – that charges at 50 watts to charge up the battery to full in just 35 minutes. Of course, at that rate, the Huracan Performante will have lapped the Nürburgring five times (with time to spare), but it’s pretty fast for a phone.

The phone features a panoramic curved display and runs on proprietary ColorOS 5.1 (based on Android 8.1) with Google Assistant. It’s said to retail for (deep breath now) a whopping 1,600 euros – more than $1,850 at today’s rates. And what’s more is that the two companies plan on leveraging their new partnership with more products in the future.

“With OPPO’s admirable technology capability and design prowess, we look forward to building a broad and strategic partnership,” said Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali. “The launch of the OPPO Find X Automobili Lamborghini Special Edition in Paris marks the beginning of this enterprise.”
