Terming the BJP government as ‘pseudo-Hindu government’, International president of newly formed Antarrashtriya Hindu Parishad (AHP) Pravin Togadioa put the Modi government on notice daring it to bring a legislation on construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya or face an intense agitation.

“The saints will start a march from Lucknow to Ayodhya  in October if the Modi government failed do pass a Bill in favour of construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya in the next four months,” Togadia said while addressing a press conference in Lucknow on Tuesday. The AHP chief said, “We will give the present BJP government at the Centre four months to bring a legislation from Parliament otherwise the government will face the ire ofthe saints.” The erstwhile Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader, Dr Togadia also clarified that they did not support pseudo-secular parties before 2014 but after the BJP came to power in 2014, they have made up their mind not to support even pseudo-Hindu party. “I won’t take any names but the present government could easily be termed as a pseudo -Hindu party because it has failed to fulfill the promises made to the people during 2014 elections,” he said. “Promises of providing employment to the youths, abolishing Article 370, banning cow slaughter, ouster of Bangladeshis, ending the woes of farmers and good education to children etc werepromises which were made by the BJP but were not fulfilled even in four years,” Togadia said.

The AHP chief also discarded the Modi government’s slogan of `sabka saath sabka vikas’ saying that he only believed in `Hindu ka saath aur Hindu ka Vikas’. Togadia also released a draft law bill of Ayodhya Shriram Janmasthaan temple on the occasion and reiterated that a ‘mangpatra’ (charter of demands) would be given to the government demanding that besides Ayodhya, Kashi and Mathura also be given to Hindus. “Around 10 lakh Hindu workers will go to the houses of 10 crore Hindus and will get their signatures on the mangpatra,” he said. Togadia expected that around 20 crore Hindus would sign the mangpatra along with the draft law bill of Ayodhya and then it would be sent to the Union government in next four months. Claiming that he had no difference with Modi, the AHP president said that the national executive in Palampur in Himachal Pradesh in 1987 too had passed a resolution that there should be a grand temple at Ayodhya. “It was also resolved that when the BJP came to power it would pass a law like Dwaraka for the early construction of Ram temple. But even after four years in power, no law was passed as promised. I thinks Modiji is too busy in his foreign visits, so we have prepared a draft of the bill to be sent to the government,” he added. Later in the day, Togadia left for Ayodhya in a motorcade where after having a darshan of Ram Lalla, he attended the birthday function of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das.
