Four matches are slated for today in the ongoing FIFA World Cup, being hosted by Russia. In the two Group F encounters, to be played at 7.30 p.m. Mexico will face Sweden at Ekaterinburg, while South Korea will play against Germany in Kazan.
In the other two games of the day, Serbia will meet Brazil at the Spartak Stadium in Moscow, while Switzerland will take on Costa Rica at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. Both the Group E matches will begin 11.30 p.m.
Yesterday, Argentina and Denmark booked their places in the Round of Sixteen, which is the knockout stage of the tournament. Argentina beat Nigeria 2-1, to finish second in Group D with four points. Croatia topped the group with nine points after a 2-1 win over Iceland.
In Group C, the game between Denmark and already qualified France ended in a goalless draw. It was the first goalless tie in the present edition of the tournament. The result helped Denmark to advance to the next round as runner-up with five points while France topped the group with 7 points.
So far ten teams have advanced to the knockout stage. They are: Hosts Russia, Uruguay, Spain, Portugal, France, Denmark, Croatia, Argentina, England and Belgium.
