Former Fraser Coast wildlife sanctuary manager appears in court over animal cruelty charge

The former manager of the Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary has appeared in Maryborough Magistrates Court accused of violently killing a joey at the park.
Police were called to the sanctuary on January 10, after Mr Revill allegedly violently threw the joey to the ground, killing it on impact.
Biosecurity Queensland took over the investigation and charged the 62-year-old with one count of animal cruelty.
Mr Revill, who was the sanctuary's curator and a well-known member of the Maryborough community, was supported by friends during a brief appearance in court.
He told reporters "thanks for your support and stick by me, the truth will come out," outside court.
The case was adjourned for Mr Revill to seek further legal advice, and he will return to Maryborough Magistrates Court for mention in August.
Mr Revill has not yet entered a plea.
It is understood he is no longer working at the Fraser Coast Wildlife Sanctuary.
