Maha: Eleven inmates of rehab facility escape

Eleven girl inmates of a private rehabilitation facility located in Maharashtra's Palghar district escaped in the early hours today, police said.

Two of the escapees are minors, a police official said.

As per preliminary information, the girls scaled the outer wall of the facility located at Lalonde in Manor town at around 4:30 AM, he said.

He said the girls in conflict with are usually referred to this facility by the Juvenile Justice Board.

Exact details like how the girls made their way to the outer wall cannot be known immediately.

A case has been registered under section 363 (Punishment for kidnapping) of the and a search is on to trace the girls, the official said.
