Libyan Military Leader Sentenced in Benghazi Attacks

Khatallah gets 22 years for his role in assault that killed U.S. ambassador and three other Americans

WASHINGTON—A Libyan militia leader was sentenced Wednesday to 22 years in federal prison for his role in the 2012 terrorist attacks in Benghazi that killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador.

Ahmed Abu Khatallah, 47 years old, was convicted by a jury in November in U.S. District Court here of providing material support and resources to terrorists and several related charges. He was acquitted of the more serious allegations of murder and attempted murder.
