NEW DELHI: The National Commission for Women (NCW) on Thursday rejected the finding of a survey that India is the world’s most dangerous country for women, and said the countries that have been ranked after India have women who are not even allowed to speak in public.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation, after a survey of 550 experts on women’s issues, ranked India as the most dangerous country for women.

NCW chief Rekha Sharma rejected the report, claiming the sample size was small and couldn’t be representative of the whole country. There was no response from the WCD ministry.
