Auto driver robbed, assaulted; 24-yr-old girl robbed in Bhopal

A 22-year-old youth auto-rickshaw driver was robbed of Rs 1,000 and a mobile phone and was assaulted by two miscreants at Inayatpur under Kolar police station at late in the night on Sunday.

The victim Asif was robbed by two miscreants after he was returning by dropping passengers at around 3 in the night at Inayatpur.

In his complaint the victim stated that while on his way back two miscreants stopped him and took his mobile phone and Rs 1000 and when he opposed they assaulted him and later escaped with money and mobile phone.

The victim raised alarm which alerted locals but the miscreants managed to escape.

The total loss in the robbery was around Rs 5000. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and started further investigation.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old girl was robbed of her purse carrying Rs 700 and a mobile phone at Gandhi Nagar trisection late in the night on Sunday.

Police said that the complainant Sachin Naval along with his sister was on her way to Arjun Ward when they were attacked by two bike borne miscreants and escaped with purse she was carrying.

A complaint was lodged by Sachin stating that he along with his sister was on her way back home after attending a marriage at Awantika marriage garden at around 11.30 in the night.

The victim is resident of Arjun Ward in Gandhi Nagar. The police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and started further investigation.
