Smart grids: BSES, Business Finland sign three-year MoU

BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 'Business Finland' on areas of  cooperation including smart grids, automatic reader interface, energy efficiency, renewable and clean technologies such as electric vehicles, energy storage and demand response.

The MoU signed by P R Kumar (CEO BYPL) and Jukka Hollapa (PhD, Commercial Councilor and Head 'Business Finland' India).

A senior BSES official said that the partnership will work on undertaking joint studies, pilot projects, and research projects for inducting future and emerging technologies at the distribution utility level as well as knowledge sharing and consultancy.

He also said that engagement with reputed technical institutes and organisations will be undertaken depending on the requirement and scope for the same.

Commenting on the issue, Kumar said “The collaboration will help both organisations in getting strategic and tactical insights in their continued quest for providing better services benchmarked to global best practices.”

Business Finland' is an organisation fully owned by the Government of Finland. BSES Yamuna Power Limited (BYPL) is a joint venture between Reliance Infrastructure Limited and Government of NCT of Delhi.
