BETHEL — A payment app is now available for commuters in the train station parking lot.

Commuters can pay to park through the “Parksmarter” app, according to the town clerk Facebook page. Residents will be able to make remote payments for their space if they require more time.

Users can easily download the app by using the QR codes near parking kiosk or on the spaces. The app can also be found in the app store on iPhones or Androids.

The state completed a $2.3 million expansion of the Metro-North parking lot at the beginning of this year. The project added about 130 parking spots.
