Is a heat wave about to hit the Albany area?
It's time to run the check list of your favorite swimming holes: The temperature is on the rise.
The mercury is expected to rise into the 80s on Tuesday, continuing a steady climb that forecasters predict will be capped with temperatures in the 90s on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Three straight days above 90 degrees is considered a heat wave. It would be the warmest stretch of weather the region has seen this year.
For the next two days, the temperature is expected to hover in the high 70s and low 80s. Thunderstorms are expected on Thursday and those storms should usher in the warmer temperatures.
The temperature will be in the upper 80s on Friday before crossing into the 90s the next day.
Little rain is expected during the rest of the week.
