Even as the incident of a toddler run being over by a school bus on Monday was afresh, a four-year-old girl was crushed to death by her school bus in which she had returned home at Gumlapur village of Choppadandi mandal on Tuesday evening. The accident took place in front of their house as her mother watched helplessly.
Reports said Manvitha (4) had joined Krishnaveni Talent School on Monday. On Tuesday evening, after alighting from the bus in front of her house, she went to the backside of the vehicle, where her mother was coming for her. Then, as the bus driver reversed the vehicle, the girl came under one of its rear wheels. Though the bus had a cleaner, he too did not notice the girl moving behind the vehicle, it was said.
Mild tension prevailed with villagers staging a dharna, along with the body of the girl in front of the school. The police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, by promising action.
