Odisha Woman charred to death in Bhadrak

Police said a fire broke out at the residence of Uday Khilar in the midnight when the family members were asleep.

BHADRAK: A woman was charred to death in Sekhsahi under Bhadrak town police limits on Sunday night. Police identified the deceased as Subasini Khilar (45), wife of Uday Khillar, a businessman of Purunabazar area in Bhadrak town.

Police said a fire broke out at the residence of Uday Khilar in the midnight when the family members were asleep. While five members including children managed to come out of the house, Subasini was charred to death.

Two rooms were completely damaged in the fire that was brought under control by the fire personnel.
IIC Mamata Sahu said fire fighters could not rescue Subasini as her door was closed from inside.  “However, the cause of the fire will be ascertained after post-mortem and investigation”, she added.
