GURUGRAM: The crime unit, Sohna nabbed a 50-year-old resident of Damdama village for murdering his friend with an iron rod after an argument on Sunday night when they were drinking together. The accused was produced in a city court on Tuesday and taken on one-day police remand for interrogation.
Late on Sunday night, police had discovered the body of 35-year-old Rajender alias Rajan, a resident of Damdama village at a roadside. A passerby spotted the body and informed the police. The family of the deceased named six accomplices along with the key accused saying they had gone out together on Sunday evening.

The police managed to nab the main accused Jasvir on Monday night and after producing him in court took him on police remand for one day to get the whereabouts of the others involved. The preliminary investigation revealed that victim was friends with others and they had gone out to have some drinks.

While they were an argument broke out and Rajan was attacked with an iron rod and he died on the spot. All the accused fled the spot and only after the police questioned the family of the deceased the key accused Jassi was nabbed from his village.

“The family suspected the friends who took the deceased out for drinks. Prima facie evidence too hinted at a scuffle. We have taken the prime accused, Jasvir into remand and would get more details about motive and involvement of others,” said inspector Om Prakash, in-charge of crime unit, Sohna.
