Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari wrote to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday asking him to return to the Capital and ensure better monsoon preparedness since he has been ‘declared fit’ by the doctors.
Mr. Kejriwal is currently undergoing naturopathy treatment in Bengaluru.
“Since you [Mr. Kejriwal] have been declared fit by the doctors, you must return to Delhi at the earliest and resume work,” Mr. Tiwari said.
“I would like to draw your attention towards desilting of drains under the jurisdiction of Public Works Department. With the monsoon set to hit Delhi by next week, immediate attention of the government is needed to ensure unclogging of drains so that the people do not face waterlogging issue,” Mr. Tiwari said.
He also sought theChief Minister’s attention towards the problems being faced by Delhiites due to water “crisis”, power cuts and pollution.
9-day sit-in
Mr. Kejriwal had left for Bengaluru last week to undergo a 10-day naturopathy treatment following complaints of high blood sugar in the wake of his nine-day sit-in at the Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal’s office.
