Passport office row: Inter-faith couple does not live in Lucknow for a year, says Police

The Lucknow passport office row took a new turn today as the Uttar Pradesh Police informed the Regional Passport Office that, Tanvi Seth, the woman who had accused a passport officer of harassing her along with her husband, does not stay at the address mentioned by her in the passport form.

Seth, according to the the report, does not live at the Lucknow address for the past one year but instead was living in Noida.

"We found out that Tanvi Seth has not been staying at the current mentioned address for a year. We have sent our report to the Regional Passport Office", said Deepak Kumar SSP Lucknow police.


The couple had on June 21, accused passport seva official Vikas Mishra of harassing them over their interfaith marriage. Mishra had asked the husband to convert to Hinduism, according to the couple.

Mishra, who was transferred after the couple narrated their experience on Twitter, has denied any wrongdoing. He stated that he was merely doing his work and pointing out discrepancies. An eye witness had backed the story of Vikas Mishra.
