New Ferns 'orb' sculpture to be raised in Wellington's Civic Square

Wellington's renowned sculpture Ferns being removed in 2015.
A replacement Ferns sculpture is set to be reinstalled at Wellington's Te Ngākau (Civic Square) after a three-year wait.
Wellington City Council has confirmed that a new version of the popular sculpture would be put in place on Wednesday.
The original Neil Dawson orb was removed from the site three years ago because it was worn out.

Ferns in pride of place, back in 2014.
Ferns, was a silver sphere of ferns, suspended by wires above the square, and was a focal point for many locals and tourists for the better part of 20 years before it was removed.

Dawson had been involved in the new design for the project, which had been best by a number of delays.
