A French woman has been held by US Customs and Border Protection after she accidentally jogged over the US border while visiting family in Canada. Cedella Roman, 19, was stopped by officials, questioned and then detained for two weeks before her status as an illegal immigrant had been cleared up.

Australian man wins third lottery prize this month

A 59-year-old Australian man has won three big prizes in the national lottery in the space of a month. After winning nearly $1.9m (£1m) three weeks ago, Carlo Massetti won a further $35,000 (£20,000), which he donated to a local hospital. The most recent success takes his grand total of major wins to five.

Police find drugs in World Cup replicas

Officials in Argentina have found 20kg of cannabis, 10kg of cocaine and 1,800 doses of crack cocaine hidden inside replica World Cup trophies. Police also found $14,000 in cash where the trophies were being stored.
