London bloodbath: Police chase down ‘machete-wielding’ suspect after Romford stabbing
A MAN in his early 20s has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Romford, east London this afternoon - just days after a 15-year-old was stabbed to death in the town.
Police and paramedics were scrambled London Road shortly before 3pm.
The severity of the victim’s injuries is not yet known, police said.
An officer arrested one suspect after chasing him down a busy street as shocked bystanders looked on.
A witness said the man had been “running around with what looks like a machete”.
Footage taken at the scene shows three officers pinning a man to the ground outside shops while shocked bystanders looked on.
One officer can be seen collecting his possessions in an evidence bag.
A video posted on Twitter shows what appears to be a large bladed weapon being placed into the bag.
A caption accompanying the clip reads: “My brothers in Romford this bloke just got slammed on the deck by the police after running around with what looks like a machete.”

One man was arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession of a bladed article, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said.
Two other men have been arrested on suspicion of GBH.
Part of the roundabout between Waterloo Road and London Road has been closed, the Romford Recorder reports.
