LUDHIANA: A man attacked his wife with a sword following heated argument a man has attacked his wife with a sword and chopped off her right hand following a heated argument in Ludhiana's
Meharban area on Tuesday.
The accused fled from his house when the woman raised an alarm following which their neighbouers rushed her to a hospital.
The injured woman has been identified as Kuldeep Kaur (35), wife of Joga Singh, a labourer by profession.
Woman's mother Som Kaur has alleged that Joga Singh is a baptized Sikh. However, is a drunkard and drug addict. He would often come home drunk and would fight with Kuldeep.
Further, Kuldeep added that on Tuesday evening her husband came home in an inebriated condition. When she stopped him for drinking liquor as he is a baptized Sikh, Joga Singh started fighting. Following a heated argument, he attacked her with sword.
On hearing her screams, the neighbours huddled on spot and took injured woman to hospital.
Investigation officer ASI Kulwinder Singh said that the police have recorded statement of Kuldeep and soon an FIR will be lodged in this regard.
