Hardware businessman shot dead in Noida village

NOIDA: A 35-year-old hardware businessman was shot dead by three bike-borne criminals in Gijhor village on Tuesday night. The victim was identified as Awdhesh Kumar, a resident of Sarfabad village.
Police said Kumar was returning home after closing his shop for the day when three bike-borne criminals arrived at the spot. “The criminals pumped 2 or 3 bullets into the victim. Kumar received critical injuries and collapsed on the spot. “Locals rushed to the spot after hearing his cries for help but the assailants managed to flee,” said an official from Sector 24 police station.

A police team rushed the victim to district hospital but he was declared brought dead by thedoctors

Rajeev Kumar Singh, circle officer Noida II, said prima facie it seems the victim had some personal enmity. “The body has been sent for a postmortem and reports are awaited. We have formed a team and launched a search for the criminals. We are also investigating the footage of CCTV cameras of adjoining areas in this case,” Singh said.

SSP Ajay Pal Sharma and SP City Arun Kumar Singh also reached the crime spot and directed the cops to start a probe and arrest the accused.
