Pedestrians struck by car in Melbourne CBD
Four pedestrians have been hit by a car in the Melbourne CBD and the driver, who was allegedly driving a stolen car, is on the run.
Victoria Police said they were were investigating after the vehicle struck pedestrians on A’Beckett Street near Queen Street and Market Street just after 5pm.
"The pedestrians are being treated for injuries, the exact degree of their injuries is unclear at this stage," a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
"Police are urging people to avoid the area. The incident is not believed to be terror related. We will have more detail when it comes to hand."
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said they had reports of two men hit by a car in the city.
"There is one incident on the intersection of A’Beckett Street and Queen Street where a car has hit a man, a pedestrian, at 5.17pm," she said.
At the moment a man in his 30s is being assessed at the scene. His injuries are not known at the moment.
"There is also a report of a car hitting a pedestrian and a traffic pole at the intersection of Collins Street and Market Street at 5.25pm.
"A man in his 20s was assessed at the scene with an injury to his head. He is conscious and breathing."
