BENGALURU: Questioning the legality of the notice issued by the city police for not having an occupancy certificate (OC) of the building or not obtaining the licence as per the norms, owners of some of the live bands and bar and restaurants moved the Karnataka High Court.

On Monday, the court adjourned the hearing of these petitions filed by M/s Lovers Night Pub and others. The police have issued a notice to these petitioners as they did not obtain a licence as per the provisions of the Licensing and Controlling of Places of Public Entertainment (Bangalore City) Order, 2005.

This order was upheld by the Supreme Court in January 2018. Based on this verdict, the police have initiated action.
