
Bihar Board 10th result 2018: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the Bihar Board 10th result 2018 or Bihar matric exam result 2018 at the official websites — biharboard.ac.in and biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in. The pass percentage has improved with 68.89 per cent students have passed their matric exams. This year’s Class 10 topper is Prerna Raj who scored 457 marks (91.4 per cent) while the second position is jointly shared by Pragya and Shikha Kumari. The third rank is bagged by Anupriya Kumari who scored 452 marks. Out of 17.58 lakh students who appeared for this matric exams, a total of 12.11 have passed. As many as 8.84 lakh boys and 8.74 lakh girls appeared for their matric exams, of which, 12.11 lakh passed.

A total of 12.23 lakh boys and 65,779 girls have got first division while 3.67 lakh boys and 2.95 lakh girls have got the second division. The third division has been received by 1.75 lakh males and 1.81 lakh females. About 1304 students have got a compartment. The Bihar Board officials said scrutiny application will be accepted from June 28 on the official website. On the same day, the BSEB matric compartmental exam application will also be accepted.
“The results of Class 10 examination will be declared at 4:30 pm on June 26, ahead of the scheduled time 11:30 am, in presence of School Education Minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma,” said an official.
Board chairman Anand Kishore and education minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma have released the results today. This year, the pass percentage has increased with nearly 18.77 per cent in comparison to the previous year.
BSEB chairperson Anand Kishor, who expressed satisfaction at the result, however, had to face tough questions on missing 42,400 answersheets from a Goalganj evaluation centre. Asked if how the board could do scrutiny in absence of answersheets missing, the chairperson said: “The board would sit together and take a call on it. It is a very valid question”.
The Bihar government has decided to felicitate 10 toppers of Class 10 and 12. Matric toppers will get Rs 1,200 per month for two years to pursue higher secondary education. The students will have to score at least 60 per cent marks in Class 11 to be eligible for the scholarship in Class 12.
The results of matric exam were scheduled to release on June 20, however, when news was out of missing Class 10 answer sheets from a school at Bihar’s Gopalganj, the BSEB officials decided to postpone the result by a week. The arrested scrap dealer was identified as Pappu Gupta. The police said Gupta has told them that he bought all the “missing” answer sheets from an office attendant of the school, who has already been arrested. The Bihar Board will soon open the application process for the scrutiny. Students will have to submit a fee of Rs 120 and apply online for the same at the official website of the Board. The Board will also release the compartment exam dates.

BSEB Class 10 results 2018: Know the passing marks
In Class 10th, students have to obtain a total of at least 30 marks out of 100. In order to qualify, a student should get an aggregate of 150 marks. They should have passed in all subjects except English and optional subjects to be declared as passed. In social science, a student has to pass in theory and Internal assessment (literacy activity and project work) altogether obtaining at least 30 marks out of 100. For science, one needs to pass in theory and internal assessment examination altogether, obtaining at least 30 marks out of 100.
Last year’s Bihar Board class 10 exam was topped by Prem Kumar of Lakhisarai Government school. He scored 465 marks (93 per cent). As many as 13.91 per cent students scored the first division, 26.88 candidates have registered second division 9.32 per cent. The overall pass percentage was 50.12 per cent.
Due to strict security measures were taken by the BSEB, the students who appeared for the Bihar Board matric exams were barred from wearing shoes and socks to the examination centres. The 10th class students instead wore slippers to the exam centres.
