June 25 (UPI) -- Toni Collette, Merritt Wever and Kaitlyn Dever have signed on to star in the Netflix series Unbelievable, the streaming service announced Monday.
Lisa Cholodenko -- whose credits include Laurel Canyon and The Kids Are All Right -- is to direct the first three episodes of the drama, which is based on "An Unbelievable Story of Rape," a Pulitzer Prize-winning article by The Marshall Project and ProPublica.
"Collette and Wever will play detectives whose lives become intertwined in their mutual pursuit of a possible serial rapist," said a news release from the streaming service.
No anticipated debut date for the show was announced.
