A schedule of events surrounding the rebuild of Alma’s Wright Park have been released.
The wooden park was torn down Friday and Saturday, getting ready to make room for a new play structure.
The groundbreaking ceremony is set to take place at 7:30 a.m. on July 19.
Following it, the first day of the build process will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on that day, and at the same times on July 20 and 21.
Volunteers are still being sought for the build process.
Any volunteers who want to work on-site must be at least 13 years old. Email almaparkrebuild@gmail.com to sign up and for more information.
On July 22 and 23, the installation of poured-in-place flooring will take place.
This installation process is set to finish on July 24, depending on weather conditions.
“Once it’s poured, it has to sit. It can’t be walked on for 24 hours,” said Amanda Huff, fundraising chair of the Rebuilding Alma’s Wright DREAM Park group, on Tuesday.
The soft opening of the new playscape is tentatively schedule for July 25.
Its grand opening is set for 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 15. At 6 p.m., a ribbon cutting will take place.
In the event of rain, the grand opening will be rescheduled to take place from 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 20 with a ribbon cutting at 6 p.m.
