Liverpool transfer news: Marco Asensio responds to transfer rumours
REAL MADRID star Marco Asensio says he won’t consider interest from Liverpool until after the World Cup.
Asensio is Real’s biggest prospect but after a bright start to the season his form dipped and he was unable to command a regular place in the team.
And reports in Spain claimed Liverpool were preparing a stunning £158million deal for the 22-year-old.
But when pressed about Liverpool’s interest at a press conference, Asensio insisted he wanted to keep his focus on the World Cup.
"Liverpool? When the World Cup is over, we'll talk about that sort of thing, now I'm focused on selection,” he told reporters.

Liverpool’s interest in Asensio comes as they seek alternatives to Lyon’s Nabil Fekir.
The Reds had looked set to sign the France star but the deal collapses due to concerns over his medical history.
But Fekir could still leave his boyhood club for the Premier League after president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed he held talks with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho.

“I was with Jose Mourinho the other day. We had long discussions,” Aulas told beIN Sports.
“Personally, I am no longer in discussions with Liverpool. At the moment, we are waiting for France and Nabil to have a fantastic World Cup.”
Fekir could have an opportunity to show Liverpool and Man Utd what he is capable of when France take on Denmark in the World Cup this afternoon.
