Shia Waqf Board chief donates Rs 10K for Ram Temple

Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board chairman Waseem Rizvi on Sunday visited Ayodhya and donated Rs 10,000    for the construction of the Ram Temple at the disputed site in the temple town. Rizvi donated the money at the work shop for the Ram Janambhoomi temple set up by the Vishwa Hindu Paruishad.

Later talking to the media, Waseem Rizvi said that it would be better to win the hearts of the Hindus rather than winning the case for Muslims on Ayodhya dispute.   “I have visited the Ram Janambhoomi workshops as a secular Muslim and have donated as per my capacity. My donation should be seen as a love and respect for the Ram Temple and to create a brotherhood in the country,” he said. Waseem further said that every secular Muslim wants that the dispute on Ayodhya between the Hindus and Muslim should end and a Ram temple be constructed at the site where the babri mosque once  existed prior to its demolition on December 6, 1992.  He said there was no need for the reconstruction of the mosque in Ayodhya.

“I have already proposed in the Supreme Court that an  Rs Masjid-e-Aman’ should be constructed in Lucknow,” he said while claiming that once the Ram Temple construction starts then many more secular Muslims would come forward and give donations for it. Waseem Rizvi for nearly a year is spearheading the campaign for the construction of temple at Ayodhya. For his campaign he has earned the wrath of the muslim fundamentalists and extremist elements. He is also in their hit list for terming the Madarsas, the Islamic schools, as the breeding for extremism and terrorist.  The UP government last week had given Y-category security to Waseem after two terrorists were arrested from Bulandshahr, who were allegedly planning to attack the Shia Waqf Board chairman.
