Yeddyurappa blames Zameer for causing unnecessary confusion over the issue

After taking objection to Tipu Jayanti celebrations in the State by the erstwhile Congress government, BJP has taken objection again to a proposal to name Haj Bhavan in Bengaluru after Tipu Sultan, the 18th century ruler of Mysuru.

The former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa told presspersons here on Sunday the proposal had caused unnecessary confusion, and if a name has to be given to the Haj Bhavan, it could be named after the former President late A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Blaming Minister for Wakf and Haj B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan for causing unnecessary confusion over the issue, he said the proposal was not good and was condemnable. “Karnataka is a peaceful State. My advice to the Minister is to not disturb the peace prevailing in the State.

“It was my intention to build Haj Bhavan for benefit thousands of pilgrims. The government gave land and money for construction of the bhavan. It can be left like that,” he said.

On the proposed farm loan waiver, he said Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy had promised many schemes during the election and people have given them 37 seats by believing that the promises would be implemented. “It is his responsibility to implement the promises. People are waiting and I am also waiting for it,” he said.
