BC Hydro says 4,500 customers are still without power 24 hours after strong winds and severe lightning moved through the southern interior.
Approximately 32,000 customers in the Okanagan and Shuswap areas were without power Monday in the aftermath of the storms.
Crews continue to work on restoring power following storms in the Interior last night. We’ll be working through the night but due to extent of the damage we expect around 4500 customers out overnight in some communities. Pockets of customers in these areas may be out overnight:

The utility said its crews worked through the night and have made good progress restoring electricity to thousands more customers affected by the blackouts.
