Power still out for thousands after lightning strikes cut service in B.C.'s southern Interior

BC Hydro says 4,500 customers are still without power 24 hours after strong winds and severe lightning moved through the southern interior.

Approximately 32,000 customers in the Okanagan and Shuswap areas were without power Monday in the aftermath of the storms.

The utility said its crews worked through the night and have made good progress restoring electricity to thousands more customers affected by the blackouts.
