Man Utd transfer news: Mino Raiola thinks Jose Mourinho may take up Marco Verratti offer
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly been offered the chance to sign PSG star Marco Verratti by agent Mino Raiola.
Manchester United boss Mourinho has been tipped to sign PSG midfielder Verratti over the last year.
Last summer, it was claimed he was keen to use the club’s ties to Raiola to sign the Italy international.
Manchester United ultimately chose to place their faith in Nemanja Matic who enjoyed a steady, if unspectacular, first season at Old Trafford.
PSG are set for a transfer window of change after replacing Unai Emery with Thomas Tuchel.
And Italian outlet Calcio Mercato claim United have been offered the chance to sign Verratti this summer by agent Raiola.
The player’s career has stagnated over the past 12 months.
Barcelona appeared primed to win the race for his signature a year ago, with the Catalan giants making their interest known.
PSG then hit back, however, by signing Neymar.
Verratti continues to be an ever-present in the middle of the park but his form dropped off under Emery last term.
And Calcio Mercato say United could now be his next destination, with Raiola believing the club to be seriously considering whether to take him up on his offer.
Tuchel reportedly met with Verratti and informed him he harboured doubts over the player’s fitness.
However, while United have been offered the chance to snap him up, they are not the only club.

Barcelona have supposedly snubbed the chance to reignite their interest in the 25-year-old.
Yet Real Madrid and Juventus both could muscle in.
United look set to invest in another midfielder despite landing Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is on their radar.
But, if Raiola gets his way, United may make Verratti their second marquee arrival.
