VISAKHAPATNAM:  After the wrong certificate was issued to BSc student A Srihari of BS and JR Degree College at Tekkali in Srikakulam district in 2015, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao directed Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao to suspend the officials who had issued the certificate to the student.

Srihari who passed BSc in 2015 was issued B Com certificate instead of BSc degree. But the marks under subjects category carried his original subjects in BSc- Botany, Zoology and Chemistry. When he found the mistake in the certificate and approached his college at Tekkali, the officials directed him to AU which issued the certificate three years ago. But when the AU failed to address his issue, Srihari reported the problem to a Telugu daily recently.

Responding to the issue, the minister on Sunday spoke to the Vice-Chancellor over the phone and asked him to submit an inquiry report over the issue. He also said that the employees would be terminated from the services if the same mistake is repeated.

Meanwhile, Srihari was recently rejected after getting selected for an outsourcing job in the government department, which actually requires a pass in BSc, while his certificate showed B Com credentials.
