GURUGRAM: The special investigation team (
SIT), constituted to probe the June 7 attack on a HR manager of a Japanese company, arrested one more person in the case for his alleged role in the crime. According to investigators, so far four people have been arrested out of eight people who have been booked in the case.
Charan Singh (30), a resident of the Pathredi village, was arrested on Sunday and produced in a court on Monday that sent him to three days police remand. “We have arrested the fourth accused in the case and are sure to nab the others too,” said Arun Bishnoi, SHO of Bilapsur police station.
According to the police, Singh was part of the planning and his role was to supervise and coordinate the execution of the attack. Sources confirmed that the shooter who fired at HR manager
Dinesh Sharma has been identified. as Kishan (28), a resident of Bawal.
On Friday, police had arrested the third accused, Rajesh, in the case. Investigators, however, have not been able to recover the weapon used in the crime.
On June 14, the SIT was formed under the deputy commissioner of police (crime) to probe the attack on Dinesh Sharma. Two separate FIRs were registered at Bilaspur police station in the case. One FIR was registered on June 7 against eight people, including an ex-employee of the firm — Joginder — for the attack on Sharma. Joginder and his relative Dayachand were arrested on June 8. The second FIR was registered on June 12 against an unknown person for sending a threat letter to the company.
Dinesh Sharma, 50, who was driving to work in his Etios, was followed by four men on two bikes from
Manesar to Bilaspur, where his office is located. He was hit in the back, just below the neck, by a bullet that pierced a rear window when one of the bikers began firing. An injured Sharma drove 3km to his office, from where he was rushed in an ambulance to Rockland hospital in Manesar. The attackers allegedly followed the ambulance for a while before giving up.
