Navi Mumbai: Three relatives drowned in a lake opposite Taloja jail on Sunday evening. The incident occurred at Sector 35 when Faizan Nasar Siddiqui (18) and Abid Siddiqui (35) from Taloja, and Rohan Kamar Siddiqui (18) from Govandi, along with another relative were sitting near the lake and chatting.
“The force of the water flowing from the mountain suddenly increased, and one of the the trio slipped into the water. Trying to save him, two others fell into the lake,” senior police inspector Pradeep Tidar from Kharghar police station said.
The fourth relative alerted the police and the fire brigade. At the time of going to press, the body of Faizan was recovered, and a search is on. “The relatives are not in a state to speak and hence the profession of the trio is not known yet,” Mr. Tidar said.
