Hazard has been a long-term target for Real Madrid and been linked with a move to the Bernabeu over the past few summers.
After a disappointing campaign in which the Blues finished outside the top four, Hazard supposedly urged the club to make high-profile signings.
With Antonio Conte set to be sacked, there has been an air of uncertainty enveloping Stamford Bridge.
Real have always coveted Hazard and Zinedine Zidane was an admirer before he resigned from the Bernabeu giants last month.

They know what they have to do if they want me
And now according to Spanish paper Marca, Eden’s father, Thierry, tried to offer his son to Real BEFORE the Champions League final in Kiev.
It is said that Eden’s father informed Real that his son was available to sign and told them he wouldn’t be signing a new contract with the west London outfit.
Belgium’s former assistant manager, Vitrl Borkelmans, suggested last week that Hazard is ready to make the move to Spain.
He said: “I think now is the moment that Hazard has to move, which will most likely be to Spain.
“He has played a lot of years in the Premier League, but I think it’s time for him to move on.”
Hazard himself even flirted with a move to Real as he said: “If I stay then it would be because they are going to improve on last season.
“I am not going to remain if they are going to be worse.
“Real Madrid could be interesting for me as everyone knows. They know what they have to do if they want me.”
