Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that desperate Congress is trying to revive its fortune through `temple’ and its national president has started moving from one temple to another with a hope that there would be reversal of fortune but he should know people vote for development not for temple darshan.

“People visit temple because they have faith on God but some leaders have started visiting temples believing these visits will fetch them votes which is not true.  People are intelligent enough to know the intention of leaders like Rahul Gandhi’s visits behind temple,” Yogi said while addressing a public rally in Chibramau in Kannauj district on Sunday.

Chief Minister along with party president Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey were in Chibbramau to attend the 10th death anniversary of party leader Ram Prakash Tripathi.

Yogi said that four generations of Rahul Gandhi had never visited temple and now all of a sudden he has started wearing janau (sacred thread) and started visiting temples. This is done with an intention to mislead people because he believes that by visiting temples he can get votes,” he said.

He also attacked Congress for siding with Lashkar-e-Taiyyaba (LeT) saying the party which advocates the views of anti-nationals can never think of country’s progress.  “The Kashmir policy of Modi government has started delivering result. The nexus of stone pelters with Pakistan has been exposed and this has rattled Congress,” he said.

Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken the country to a new high. The reputation of India has gone up globally. It was the endeavor of our Prime Minister that India’s own Yoga got international recognition in form of International Yoga Day, he said.

BJP state president Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey said that both Central and State governments are working in tandem to ensure that benefits of the government schemes reach the masses.  “People are happy with the policies of Modi and Yogi Government which has made Congress nervous,” he said. “Both the governments are committed to the welfare of the masses and they are working to ensure people at the village level can get basic facilities. Government is providing houses, it has given free electricity and LPG connections to the poor. These decisions have changed the lives of the people,” he said.  Meanwhile, a meeting of the backward and schedules caste cell will be held in the state capital on Monday. Party president  Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey, organizational secretary Sunil Bansal will address the cadre.
