Couple, family friend killed after their car rams into stationary truck in outer Delhi

A couple and their family friend were killed after their car rammed into a stationary truck from behind on the in outer Delhi, police said today.

The incident took place on the intervening night of June 23 and 24, they said.

On June 22, Harvinder Madan (52), his wife (50), Satya Ranjan (50), a homeopathic doctor and their family friend, and another man (42) were returning to from Punjab's Firozpur after a visit to a religious place, the police said.

When they reached Mongolpuri flyover, their car hit the truck that was parked on the downhill side of the flyover. The truck's parking lights were not on and the car could not see it in the night, they said.

The four injured persons were rushed to different hospitals. Harvinder, and Ranjan were declared brought dead, while Singh is currently hospitalised and his condition is stated to be critical, the police said.
