Some two score campers calculated the best way to spend a summer day and deduced that River Bend Nature Center's Discover STEAM Camp might be the right solution.
Such a hypothesis was solved Monday, as the 40 young campers embarked on a trip through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math through the world around them.
"The theme of this week is STEAM, standing for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics," said camp counselor Lee Williamson. "And we’re trying to teach these kids how they can see these elements both in nature and in a learning setting.”
The week-long camp includes touring the butterfly conservatory to see how insects use camouflage to blend into their environment and walking the nature trail to spot plants, critters, birds and insects in their natural environment.
