BENGALURU: Three days after 49-year-old realtor Ganesh H K shot his wife Sahana (42) dead over alleged financial stress, the parents of the deceased have made no allegations against him. Jayanagar police probing the case came to the conclusion that Ganesh’s motive was clear — he wanted to kill all his family members before ending his own life.

A senior police officer said, “Sahana’s parents have said the couple had no issues and were even happy with their kids. They adopted Saakshi (9) from an orphanage in Maharashtra five years ago. Saakshi and Siddarth (13) were going to the same private school while Sumith (15), a specially-abled child, used to stay at home and Sahana took care of him. Ganesh had not shown his anger even once over the issue as there was a healthy understanding between him and his wife. So, the parents did not blame Ganesh for taking this extreme step since he was known to be a nice person to everyone.”

Preliminary investigations revealed that Ganesh had taken loans only from a couple of banks and he had not faced any harassment over repaying the loans.  It was found that Ganesh was extremely worried over his financial situation as he was unable to get out of the crisis on his own. He had a reason to worry — he knew the bank authorities would auction his property as he had pledged it to borrow the loan. Thus, he impulsively took a decision to end his life after discussing it with Sahana but she never shared anything about it to any of their family members or relatives, the police officer said.

Meanwhile, Manipal Hospital authorities said, “Dr Ashwath Ram is treating the injured children Siddarth and Saakshi and they are still in PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit). We do not want to reveal the condition of the kids as of now.” However, it was earlier stated that they were “out of danger.”

Cops yet to question Ganesh about shooting children

Kaggalipura police are yet to interrogate Ganesh regarding the attempt to murder his two children. A separate case was filed against him for shooting his two kids. A police officer said, “Ganesh will be taken into police custody once Jayanagar police complete their investigation. Meanwhile, we are discussing with the senior police officers to question him over his attempt to kill his children. Siddarth has given the statement in an FIR and he revealed what happened at the resort in his complaint.
